COMMENTARY ON THE 40 HADITH OF Al-NAWAWI

بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اﷲِالرَّحْمَنِ اارَّحِيم
Commentary on the Forty Hadith of Al-Nawawi

A comprehensive work consisting of 2 Volumes commenting on al-Nawawi¦s Forty Hadith. by Jamaal al-Din M. Zarabozo

With an Introduction by Prof. Jaafar Sheikh Idris. Here are just a few excerpts from Prof. Jaafar Sheikh Idris¦s comments to the work. The reader will not be studying explanations of the hadith in a narrow sense; the reader will, in fact, be introduced to many branches of the Islamic sciences: the different sciences of hadith, the science of textual interpretation, the science of jurisprudence, law, and even Arabic language. This is a great commentary on a great book. Brother Jamaal Zarabozo is to be congratulated for producing such a scholarly book. -- Prof. Jaafar Sheikh Idris T

This commendable work offers a detailed analysis of forty of the most important hadith of the Prophet (S) for a Muslim to understand. Beginning with a biography of Imam Al-Nawawi, the author then explains each hadith in depth. Each hadith features the Arabic text, English translation, selected vocabulary in Arabic with English translation, general comments, circumstances behind the hadith, brief biography of the narrator and then a detailed commentary that explains the hadith's major subjects. Each subject is studied from a logical and shariah point of view, deducing the lessons of the hadith for the reader. The author then familiarises the reader with the interpretations of the great scholars and provides his own interpretation. 'An important study for any student of hadith'.

Imam Malik bin Anas was a well-known, highly respected scholar of his time and a follower of the Sunnah. Till date, he is considered to be among the greatest leaders the Muslim nation has witnessed.

He collected hadith and compiled them into what is called Muwatta Malik. His book is quite well known and is said to have the golden chain of narration. Although it is an excellent compilation of hadith by an excellent scholar, the Muwatta did not gain the popularity that the Six Books of Hadith gained. It has been translated into the English language and is available on our website for our readers to refer to.

Jami At-Tirmidhi is one of the classical books of hadith that was compiled by 279AH when it's compiler and the great Muhadith, Muhammad ibn Isa ibn Surah At-Tirmidhi (209-279AH), passed away. He was a special student of the great scholar of hadith, Imam Bukhari. He, like other great muhaditheen of our salaf, traveled a lot and quoted from many shuyukh. With 3956 ahadith, Jami' At-Tirmidi is an invaluable addition to any person's library of hadith collection.

Imam Abu Ismail `Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Ansari in Harrah said about this book: `To me, his book is better than the book of Al-Bukhari and that of Muslim. Because only one who is an expert in knowledge can arrive at the benefit of the books of Al-Bukhari and Muslim, whereas in the case of the book of Abu `Eisa, every one of the people can reach its benefit." In Jami`Al-Usul, Ibn Al-Athir said: "(It) is the best of the books, having the most benefit, the best organization, with the least repetition. It contains what others do not contain; like mention of the different Madhhabs (views), angles of argument, and clarifying the circumstances of the Hadith being authentic, weak, Gharib (odd), as well as disparaging and endorsing remarks (regarding narrators)."

SAHIH MUSLIM IN ENGLISH

بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اﷲِالرَّحْمَنِ اارَّحِيم
Complete Sahih Muslim in English
Imam Muslim is one of the foremost preservers of ahadith of the Prophet. His book comes second only to Sahih al Bukhari in terms of authenticity according to majority of scholars. It is considered to be better than Sahih Bukhari in terms of organization and repetition according to some scholars of Islam. It is the second in the collection of 6 books called "Sihah Sittah" or "6 most authentic books". Imam Muslim took painstaking efforts in preserving the words/actions/sayings & approvals of the Prophet. He has mostly used 4-5 narrators in the chain of transmission although there are a couple of hadith containing 3 narrators. Imam Muslim was a very good student of Imam Bukhari and some of his Shuyukhs, although he did not narrate from Imam Bukhari too much, thus reducing the # of narrators.

SAHIH BUKHARI IN ENGLISH

بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اﷲِالرَّحْمَنِ اارَّحِيم
Complete Sahih Al Bukhari in English

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him said in his final sermon:

" وقد تركت فيكم ما إن اعتصمتم به فلن تضلوا أبدا ، أمرا بينا ، كتاب الله وسنة نبيه "
And indeed, I have left among you that which if you hold fast to, then you would never ever go astray, clear things, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (Peace be upon him).

We know how important the Quran is for a Muslim; each and every word of the Quran deserves to be pondered upon and it helps the Muslim increase their Imaan and get closer to Allah. The second thing Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) mentioned was his Sunnah, his example.

The Sunnah is preserved in the form of Hadith, authentically traced back to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The words of the Prophet are also considered to be a part of the Religion and are a requirement to understand the Quran correctly.

Scholars of the Sunnah worked their days and nights to collect hadith and compile them. They spent their lives in the service of the Religion, to separate the authentic hadith from the ones that are not proven from the Prophet, peace be upon him.

The work of Imam Muhammad bin Ismail al Bukhari is the most respected compilation of the hadith. He travelled thousands of miles for this purpose. He had memorized over a hundred thousand ahadith; however, he recorded just over 7500 in his compilation of Sahih (sound) ahadith, named Jami’ as Sahih al Bukhari.

It has been translated into the English language by Muhammad Muhsin Khan and is widely available. The English translation of Sahih Bukhari is divided into 9 volumes. It is available for download for free from this page.

Deducting duplicates, the Imam's collection contain about four thousand distinct Sayings. the word of the jinn and devils

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Dr. Umar Sulaiman al-Ashqar
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 262 | Size: 3 MB

Some people think that writing this topic is writing about a topic that is from the periphery of knowledge. They approve of humans going over this topic in the quickest of fashions and not giving it too much thought. They think that the benefits that accrue from such a study are very limited. Furthermore, they believe that being ignorant of this topic is not harmful at all. However, I am not delving into something distant. Humans today spend billions of dollars with which they could build cities or countries and end poverty in the farthest reaches of the world — and, instead, they spend that money on research to discover if there is life or if life is possible on nearby planets. Scientists spend a great deal of their time and resources on such a question. What about an existence that is known to be living and thinking, and that lives right here with us on our earth? They live in our houses and they eat and drink with us. In fact, they even spoil our thoughts and our hearts. They drive us to destroy our own selves and to spill each others’ blood. No price can be put on the importance of the texts of the Qur’an and authentic hadith that have reached us, giving us knowledge of this matter. Those texts uncover for us the secrets of that existence: the world of the jinn.

Kitab Al-Iman-Book of Faith

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Book of Faith represents the first complete English translation of the important and well-known work Kitab Al-Iman, written by the renowned scholar Ibn Taymiyyah. The concept of Iman, faith, is fundamental to Islam. Iman has served to define the nature of Muslim life and the essence of the religion as a whole.
Ibn Taymiyyah’s own deep conviction and understanding of Iman is based on the interpretations of the Quran, Hadith, sayings and deeds of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and the conduct of the pious ancestors of the first three Islamic centuries . Ibn Taymiyyah was born in Syria on 22 January (661/1263). Throughout history, he is considered one of the very few distinguished scholars of Islam. From an early age, Ibn Taymiyyah was firmly grounded in Islamic traditional education, with emphasis on the Quran Hadith, and the Arabic language. His prolific works have served to reaffirm traditional Islamic understanding. Ibn Taymiyyah’s scholarly contributions resulted in numerous books and treaties.

Described Prophet Prayer

The Description Of The Prophet’s Prayer: This is a brief booklet which describes the Prophet’s prayer and is presented to all Muslims so that they may strive hard to imitate him when performing their Prayers, for he (Peace be upon him) said: “Perform your Prayers as you have seen me performing them” (Reported by Sahih Al Bukhari)

The benefits of the congregational prayer are very clear, and among the most obvious are that people meet and get to know one another, help each other to enjoin good and forbid evil, encourage those who neglect its performance at the correct times, teach the illiterate religious knowledge, enrage the hypocrites, express the rituals of Islam between people, call people to the religion of Allah, as well as many other benefits.
